Calling all beer lovers! The Pinta Beer Festival is back for its 2nd edition in Triton Square in Valletta, from August 17th to 20th, 2023 all evening long.

This festival is a dream come true for anyone who loves beer with over 300 beers from local and international breweries to choose from. Its not just about beer, there will be live music each night from prominent local bands as well as an awesome arcade area.

You could also get yourself involved in the themed club nights or witness heart-pounding kickboxing, K1, MMA, and boxing tournaments. It's the perfect blend of excitement and sports entertainment!

Wabi Sabi - by Sasha Vella

If you are looking to beat the hustle and bustle of the city life, head down to the beautiful village of Mqabba for Sasha Vella's debut exhibition at Il Kamra Ta Fuq. Sasha shares a curated selection of her work which spans more than four years.

Her photography method aligns with the Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi - a worldview embracing imperfection and the search for beauty within transience and decay. Her concept celebrates the beauty of impermanence, finding charm in things that fade and evolve with time. Sasha has mastered this art in her work, showcasing the beauty through her lens. Sasha focuses on documenting natural elements that bear witness to time's passage through changes. Mountains, rocks, and even human subjects become her canvas, framing the essence of existence through a click.

The exhibition is on every day throughout August from 6am till 12pm from Monday to Saturday and from 7am till 12pm on Sundays. It's free to enter so don't miss this captivating photographic journey!

Gin and Jam - Palazzo Parisio

Step into the enchanting Palazzo Parisio, where a delightful fusion of flavors awaits you. Gin and Jam Nights is an extraordinary experience that marries the elegance of gin with the sweetness of jams. Gin and Jam is set to become your go-to destination on Wednesdays evenings throughout August.

Italian Film Days | Il Signore delle formiche

On Thursday 31 August, Spazju Kreattiv is screening: Il Signore delle Formiche for the Italian Film Days. Directed by Gianni Amelio, the story follows Italian poet, playwright and director Aldo Braibanti who was jailed in 1968 under a law criminalizing grooming. The informant is his partner's father who later compels his own son to undergo electroconvulsive therapy in a absurd and foolish attempt to cure his homosexuality. This law was later revoked in 1981. A must watch this month and tickets are selling for just €8.

Hollie Cassar - Storeroom

Meet Hollie Cassar, the London-based singer-songwriter who is making waves in the music industry. Currently, she's in the exciting process of recording her debut album, collaborating with the music producer Stuart McCredie, known for his work with Kelly Clarkson, The Fratellis, and Texas.

But that's not all!

Hollie's creativity extends beyond singing and songwriting, as she has also ventured into musical theater, composing an original musical that's in development. A true multi-instrumentalist, Hollie's talent shines through as she effortlessly plays the saxophone, guitar, drums, piano, double bass, clarinet, accordion, and ukulele.

Gozo Film Festival 2023

The Film Festival is happening from August 18th to August 20th in Citadel, Gozo for free!
